DEVELOPMENT
Program Development encompasses many facets of planning including identification
or core requirements, implementation strategies and execution.
The Development of a Program Strategy sets the tone for the larger picture
of the overall corporate needs, alternative scenarios, inclusion of business
plans and flexible alternatives for facilities planning as market conditions,
business strategies and day to day operation change and fluctuate.
Program Development by its very nature in today's dynamic and ever changing
environment must incorporate flexible alternatives for both potentially
identifiable changes as well as enough flexibility to adapt to unforseen
shifts in market and business conditions.
A program is a group of related projects managed in a coordinated manner
to obtain benefits and control NOT available from managing them individually.
Program Development is the Strategic Tool providing the road map, along
with alternative routes to reach corporate goals.
Program management is concerned with doing the right projects similar
to playing chess and keeping the overview in mind. The pieces to be used
or sacrificed being the projects, whereas Program Mangement is about doing
projects right.
